Clear Head

AI skills that help you get things out of your head, into a system you trust

I've been using these practices every day for more than eight years, most of them come from Maxim Dorofeev's book "Jedi Techniques". It helps me to sort out all kinds of tasks in my life - at work and outside of it. It's a perfect way to organise my life and all actions in it to stay calm.

So I turned them into AI skills. With AI it's just a bit faster and easier, less clicks to make in Todoist. I share them in case they help you too.

AI won't think for you, that's not the goal here. You'll have to think yourself, it will just guide you into different directions and help you find the answer. You probably don't even need the AI skills for that, you can just use them without AI as a guide.

Ten skills to organise your stuff

Every day you have a limited amount of careful thinking, a thinking budget. Most of it leaks away on thinking debt: tasks you hold in memory, vague to-dos you reread and never start, decisions you keep half-making. These skills reduce your mental load and help you think clearer.

  1. First
    • clear-head-setupPick your tools (plain markdown, Todoist, Google Calendar or anything else), map priorities, dates and projects, and set your review rhythm
  2. Any time
    • brain-dumpEmpty everything on your mind into one raw list with trigger prompts, plus a five-minute evening version
    • process-inboxTurn raw captures into tasks, projects, calendar events, follow-ups, ideas and reference
    • task-rewriterRewrite vague or stuck to-dos as a clear first physical step
    • so-that-whatTrace a task up to what you actually want, and check if your wants have any tasks behind them
    • checklistsReusable lists for trips, appointments and work routines, improved after every use
    • ideas-boxCapture every idea, even half-formed, and review the box every once in a while
  3. Mornings
    • daily-reviewClose out yesterday, refresh stale tasks and shape a realistic today
  4. Weekly
    • weekly-reviewRead every task and decide to keep, re-weight, rephrase or delete it, give every project a next step and prepare for next week's calendar
  5. Monthly
    • monthly-reflectionLook at what got done, deal with the tasks that keep slipping, clear the fog from vague ones and check your life priorities

Then just say "set up Clear Head"

The skills show the changes they plan to make and write to your tools only after you confirm. They build on Maxim Dorofeev's "Jedi Techniques", David Allen's "Getting Things Done" and Michael Linenberger's work on task lists, written in my own words and not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
